Bach Mass in B minor
Please join us for a special concert of Bach’s Missa in B minor, one performance only, on June 1, 2025 at 4pm at the beautiful Chapel of Sacred Hearts Academy on Waialae Avenue in Kaimuki.
We will sing the original 1733 “Missa,” consisting of the Kyrie and Gloria movements, plus the Agnus Dei and Dona nobis pacem, which Bach added at the end of his life.
Called “the greatest musical artwork of all times and all people,” Bach’s Mass was last heard in Honolulu in 2013. Our performance will feature a core of professional singers and instrumentalists from the Hawai‘i Symphony. We know this shorter, but no-less authentic version will be an occasion of great beauty and inspiration to all.
